We love to keep in touch with our Stagestars and it’s always a joy when they pop in to pay us a visit and fill us in with all they have been doing.
Below are some of our previous Stagestars students who share with us their considerable achievements and favourite memories of their time with us.
Today I am … on a ship as a lead singer having just finished a number one UK tour playing the female lead.
My favourite memory from Stagestars … I loved played Annie!! I lived for that show when I was younger. But my favourite memory was actually one night I was super young and I got my face painted like a tiger!
I’m thankful to Stagestars for … helping me realise that performing is what I wanted to do. Stagestars gave me the confidence and skills I needed to go on and study performing full time. Stagestars gave me the opportunity I needed to sing to an audience and do what I love. I went to Stagestars with my best friend and we still are! So I’ll never forget the memories we shared there together.
Today I am … working as a freelance actor in London, most recently working with Guilford Fringe and All Star Productions. I have been lucky enough to be involved in various projects over the past few years including theatre, musical theatre, TV, voiceover and short film.
I’m thankful to Stagestars for … helping me tremendously with my confidence and introducing me to a lot of the shows and songs that I love so much today. I will always be very grateful to Seonaid and the lovely team at Stagestars for some of my earliest performing experiences being so exciting and incredibly fun. I have nothing but great memories.
Today I am … a vocalist in the performing industry, having performed in a lead role in the Christmas Pantomime at the Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline in both 2015 and 2016. I spent the summer season in 2016 working at Holiday Village Ibiza as lead vocalist and entertainer. In 2017 I was lead vocalist with Mirage Shows and Productions Ltd on board the Boudicca with Fred Olsen Cruise lines. I will be spending 2018 as lead vocalist at the Sensatori Resort in Crete with TED Group. I have gained a Bachelor of Music degree at Edinburgh University and studied at The MGA Academy in Edinburgh for a Diploma in Musical Theatre.
My favourite memory from Stagestars … I will always remember the exciting build up to my very first show and experiencing my first technical rehearsal. I loved being surrounded by such talented children and made some great friends. Throughout my time with Stagestars I gained an invaluable foundation in performing and professionalism. I have carried the lessons I was taught into my own career as a performer. Stagestars was my first experience of being part of the performance and creative industry – it was always a dream of mine to be on the stage one day and Stagestars made it seem like more of a reality.
I’m thankful to Stagestars for … As the years have gone by I have gained a higher appreciation for the training young people gain in the creative arts and one day I would love to pass on everything I have learnt to other children who have the same ambition I did when I was their age.
Today I am … a drama teacher in Perth, Scotland!
My favorite memory from Stagestars … there are too many to choose from! Probably the buzz from performing in the annual shows – there’s no feeling quite like it!
I am thankful to Stagestars for … building my confidence and resilience, and helping me identify my passion in life.
Today I am … a shift leader at Caffè Nero after completing a year’s internship at Walt Disney World as a Cultural Representative. I am now in Glasgow looking for a job using my degree in Event Management.
My favourite memory from Stagestars … is a hard one! A few that stand out are being picked for dance numbers in the shows, the buzz of show week, and all the friends that I made – some of who are still my closest friends today. Another memory is getting into groups with friends during drama and having a lot of laughs! Improvisation was always our best friend!!
I’m thankful for Stagestars for… a lot of different reasons. Firstly, for giving me more confidence in how I hold myself as a person and improving my communication skills so I no longer fear public speaking. Secondly, for teaching me how to be an effective team player and support others through tasks. And thirdly, for bringing amazing friends into my life. Above all, I’m thankful for Stagestars for being a huge part of my childhood and giving me so many amazing memories that I will cherish forever.
